Commercial Details Using Foam Sheathing

The following details were produced by the Boston Society of Architects Building Envelope Committee for the Massachusetts Board of Building Regulations and Standards. Description
A Brick, 2” Cavity, Continuous Insulation, Air/Vapor Barrier, Sheathing, Steel Stud Backup Wall and Gypsum Drywall Interior Finish
B Brick, 2” cavity, 1” insulating sheathing (air barrier), R-11/R-13 (maximum), unfaced fiberglass batts in stud space (check climate zone), stud back-up wall.
C Brick, air cavity, R-3 continuous rigid insulation, 15# felt, sheathing air barrier, stud back-up, vapor barrier and gypsum drywall interior finish.
D Brick veneer, cavity, rigid insulation, air and vapor barrier, concrete block back-up, gypsum board.
E Single wythe concrete block with R-7 interior insulation. Commercial grade spun-bonded polyolefin air barrier, rigid insulation, vapor barrier, interior drywall.
F Vented rainscreen metal panels, 2” cavity, continuous insulation, air/vapor barrier, sheathing, steel stud backup wall and gypsum drywall interior finish
